Chef Made Putra-Executive Chef

Chef I Made Putra has been with The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua, Bali for almost 15 years starting his career as Sous Chef and has led the culinary team of the resort to the high level of cooking amongst star-rated resorts in Bali. He manages 2 restaurants, in-room dining and banquet meeting facilities which can accommodate up to 600 persons.

Chef I Made Putra is also participating actively as the President of elite Chef Association in Bali, Bali Culinary Professionals ( BCP ) Association from June 2008 after a successful term as Vice President. In his role he is in charge as Indonesia's representative of an elite audience of food. With his vast experience, he helps to reach BCP goals to develop culinary industry in Indonesia and support locally trained chefs. This includes supporting our representatives to compete in international competitions such as Asian Pastry Cup, the MLA black box and the Bocuse d'Or.

Chef I Made Putra has earned a reputation over his prestigious career as an astute planner and trusted leader who enjoys the day-today contact he has with staff and colleagues. Among the awards and accolades he has received is the King of Kitchen South East Asia and Chef of the Year by Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards 2008 - 2010 (HAPA) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2005 we won the awards to be a Super chef on Allez Cuisine cooking competition program held by Indosiar TV station (Indonesian TV station) for six times in consecutive. He also participates actively in Salon Culinary Awards since 1994 both as a participant as well as member of the team leader.

His passion is travelling on his bicycle enjoy the scenery with friends. He is now in charge as the leader of Cycling Club at this resort and has lead the club to travel to Lombok, Surabaya, Yogyakarta and Jakarta.

Chef Ridwan Isbani

Chef Ridwan Isbani-Pastry Chef

Ridwan Isbani joined the Laguna, a Luxury Collection, Nusa Dua, Bali as Pastry Chef after more than 10 years experience in the world of pastry kitchens.

Starting as a Baker at Gelael Dewata Bakery, Ridwan needed more challenge and joined Kuta Jaya Hotel, Bali as Pastry and Bakery Supervisor for his first step in hotelier world. From there, Ridwan joined Sheraton Laguna Hotel, Bali as Pastry 1st Cook for 3 years then got promoted as Pastry Chef de Partie and through the years of his dedication Ridwan got promoted as Assistant Pastry Chef. When Sheraton Laguna relaunched as The Laguna, a Luxury Collection, Ridwan obtain the trust to get the Pastry Chef position since 2007 until present.

Only graduated from high school and with more than 23 years experience in the world of Pastry Kitchen, Ridwan cannot be underestimated, he has certificate as Pastry Master from Jean Arnold and International culinary school Kuala Lumpur, also has won some award such as the best Indonesian Pastry Cup, Jakarta, Silver Medal Petit Four Bali Salon Culinary, First winner Fontera Bali Pastry Chef competition and more.

Chef Gusti Ketut Murjana

Chef Gusti Ketut Murjana-Chef de Cuisine Banyubiru

Began his career as a cook at Koki Bali Restaurant in 1990, Chef Murjana's talent was quickly acknowledged. Eager for challenge, Chef Murjana moved to Bali Cliff Resort and Spa in 1993 and at last he placed his heart at the Laguna, a Luxury Collection, Nusa Dua, Bali for more than 16 years now.

He joined Sheraton Laguna Hotel, Bali as 1st Cook for 5 years then got promoted as Demi Chef de Partie and through the years of his dedication Murjana got promoted as Chef De Partie. When Sheraton Laguna relaunched as The Laguna, a Luxury Collection, Murjana obtain the trust to get the Junior Sous Chef position since 2007 and promoted as Chef de Cuisine until present.

Without any hospitality educational back ground, Chef Murjana proven that passion and self trust are able to lead people to their dream. "I work with my heart, love what I do and expect nothing in return, that leads me to my where I stand right now."

Sommelier Yudhi Suryawan

2010 The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua, Bali is Spa proudly announces the appointment of I Gede Yudhi Suryawan as the 1st Sommelier.

Before joining the Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Yudhi worked as the Junior Sommelier at St. Regis Bali Resort on 2009-2010.

As a show of his interest in Food & Beverage skills, Yudhi started as a trainee in Bali Hilton International even before completing his study in STP ( Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata) Bali, first fully worked at Kuta Legian Village Hotel as Food and Beverage Service Team, and had the experience in the same field in the the Tulip Inn Hotels & Resort Amersfoort, the Netherland for a year then moved back to his place of birth and took on a position of Restaurant Captain in 6 Points Café, one of Papa's Café branch outlet, Sanur. From 6 Points Café, Yudhi joining Starwood as the Junior Sommelier at St. Regis Bali Resort for one year before got promoted become the 1st sommelier at the Laguna, a Luxury Collection, Nusa Dua, Bali.
